## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally honors Spectrum News Georgia, a local news network launched in November 2025 by Charter Communications, for its investment in local journalism across the state.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives, not a change to any state law. It recognizes Spectrum News Georgia, a 24/7 news network owned by Charter Communications, Inc., which launched in November 2025 to cover local stories in communities throughout Georgia.
The resolution praises the network for investing in local content, placing reporting teams in Georgia communities, and supporting a well-informed public through local journalism. It directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare an official copy of the resolution for distribution to Spectrum News Georgia. It does not create any new rights, funding, or legal requirements.

### What it does

- States the House's recognition of the network's plans to place reporting teams in Georgia communities and cover local stories.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to Spectrum News Georgia.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory requirement; it is a symbolic statement of praise.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Spectrum News Georgia and its parent company, Charter Communications, Inc. It has no legal effect on other businesses, government agencies, or the general public beyond the symbolic honor.

### Why it matters

Because this is a commendation rather than a law, it does not change anyone's rights, obligations, or funding. Its practical effect is limited to an official House record and a ceremonial copy given to Spectrum News Georgia recognizing its local news coverage.
