WHEREAS, Jason Colbert is the state recipient of the Technical College System of Georgia's (TCSG) 2025 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL), the first program of its kind in the nation established to honor outstanding technical college students; and WHEREAS, the GOAL program brings together Georgia's business, government, and industry leaders with the state's technical colleges to recognize the vital role technical education plays in Georgia's workforce development and economic prosperity; and WHEREAS, for more than 50 years, the GOAL program has served as a model partnership among business, industry, and higher education; and WHEREAS, Mr. Colbert was selected from among 22 TCSG college GOAL winners who demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and leadership at their respective technical colleges; and WHEREAS, Mr. Colbert, a nursing student at Southeastern Technical College, enrolled with the goal of receiving high-quality education and training necessary to acquire the knowledge and skills required for success in his chosen profession; and WHEREAS, Mr. Colbert will serve as an ambassador for technical education in Georgia, representing more than 149,000 TCSG students who benefit from technical education programs at 22 colleges throughout the state; and WHEREAS, Mr. Colbert has brought honor to himself, his family, Southeastern Technical College, and the Technical College System of Georgia and stands as Georgia's outstanding technical college student for 2025. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend and congratulate Jason Colbert for his outstanding achievements and his efforts to promote technical education in the State of Georgia.
