## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally commends Jennifer Yansom for receiving the EDWCM Support Staff of the Year award for her work in long-term care.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives honoring Jennifer Yansom, who received the EDWCM Support Staff of the Year award. The award recognizes outstanding long-term and post-acute care professionals through the Georgia health care association's Stars in Long Term Care program, which honors people who serve elderly and disabled Georgians.
The resolution does not change any Georgia law or create any new program. It simply states the House's praise for Yansom's character and contributions to seniors, and directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for her.

### What it does

- Formally commends Jennifer Yansom by name for receiving the EDWCM Support Staff of the Year award.
- States the House's praise for her care, compassion, and contributions to elderly and disabled Georgians.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to Yansom.
- Extends the House's best wishes for her continued health and happiness.

### Who it affects

This resolution directly names Jennifer Yansom, a long-term care support staff member. It also reflects on the broader long-term and post-acute care workforce in Georgia that serves elderly and disabled residents, though only Yansom is formally honored.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal or financial effect and does not alter any Georgia statute. Its significance is symbolic: it gives official recognition from the state legislature to Yansom's work in long-term care and to the broader contributions of care workers serving Georgia's seniors.

### Key provisions

- The preamble (whereas clauses) describes the Stars in Long Term Care recognition program run by a Georgia health care association.
- The resolved clause has the House of Representatives commend Jennifer Yansom by name for her award.
- A further resolved clause directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy available for distribution to Yansom.
