A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the Lambert High School girls golf team for winning the 2025 Georgia High School Association Class 6A Girls Golf State Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Lambert High School girls golf team has achieved an extraordinary level of success by capturing the 2025 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class 6A Girls Golf State Championship, held May 19-20, 2025; and

WHEREAS, the Longhorns posted a record two-day team total of 421 strokes, finishing 11 under par and winning the team title by 69 strokes over runner-up Lowndes High School

(490) and third-place Richmond Hill High School (493) in one of the most dominant performances in GHSA girls golf championship history; and

WHEREAS, this victory secured Lambert's sixth consecutive GHSA girls golf state championship and the 11th state title in program history, extending a remarkable tradition of excellence in Georgia high school golf; and

WHEREAS, the team was led by head coach Shane Fortenberry and assistant coach Devon Lancaster, whose leadership, preparation, and commitment to their student-athletes have been instrumental in building and sustaining one of the premier girls golf programs in the state and in the nation; and

WHEREAS, freshman Grace Lee claimed the individual GHSA Class 6A girls medalist title with rounds of 69 and 66 for a two-day total of 135, finishing nine strokes under par, while senior teammate Athena Yoo finished as the individual state runner-up at six under par, giving Lambert the top two individual finishers in the championship; and

WHEREAS, senior Zoe Duval contributed significantly with rounds of 75 and 73 to finish fourth individually at 148, while teammates McKinlee Proctor and freshman Fiona Kim also turned in strong performances, placing 12th and 20th respectively, to secure Lambert's commanding team total under the GHSA "play 4, count 3" scoring format; and

WHEREAS, the 2025 championship squad—consisting of Grace Lee, Athena Yoo, Zoe Duval, McKinlee Proctor, Fiona Kim, and Kyla Cheung—has brought great honor and recognition to Lambert High School, Forsyth County, and the State of Georgia through its competitive excellence, sportsmanship, and dedication to the game of golf; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of these student-athletes reflect not only their talent and hard work but also the steadfast support of their families, school administrators, teachers, and the broader Lambert community, all of whom have encouraged their pursuit of both academic and athletic success; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that this outstanding team, its coaches, and its individual performers be appropriately recognized and honored for their exemplary representation of their school and this state.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend the Lambert High School girls golf team, head coach Shane Fortenberry, assistant coach Devon Lancaster, and team members Grace Lee, Athena Yoo, Zoe Duval, McKinlee Proctor, Fiona Kim, and Kyla Cheung for winning the 2025 GHSA Class 6A Girls Golf State Championship and for their continued tradition of excellence as well as extend the most sincere best wishes for future success on and off the golf course.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the Lambert High School girls golf team and its coaches.
