House Resolution 1377

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending James Underwood for his superlative service to the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, James Underwood has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication in his role as Chairman of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA); and

WHEREAS, throughout his tenure as chairman, James has remained dedicated to reshaping how people view the accounting profession, ensuring CPAs of all ages know that they can have a life-long, fulfilling career; and

WHEREAS, his passion for the accounting profession began at an early age as he attended GSCPA conventions with his parents; and

WHEREAS, growing up, the annual GSCPA convention was a much-anticipated family vacation, a tradition James has carried on with his own children, Bruns and Mary; and

WHEREAS, with a lifetime of passion and dedication to the GSPCA, James has led with distinction and his chairmanship will be greatly missed; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstanding individual be appropriately honored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend James Underwood for his outstanding service as Chairman of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and extended sincere best wishes for continued health, happiness, and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to James Underwood.
