A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating Clarence Taylor upon his 70th birthday; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Clarence Taylor was born on March 4, 1956, in Columbus, Georgia, and this year he enjoys the rare distinction of celebrating his 70th birthday; and
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens; and
WHEREAS, Clarence Taylor's life is a testament to faith, service, and perseverance– from humble beginnings as a maintenance worker to becoming a respected funeral director and community leader; and
WHEREAS, his legacy continues through his unwavering commitment to excellence, compassion, and public service; and
WHEREAS, Clarence Taylor possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and
WHEREAS, a kind and generous person, Clarence Taylor brings joy and happiness to his family and to the many friends and neighbors who have the great pleasure of knowing him; and
WHEREAS, he has witnessed a dramatic change in the world over the course of his lifetime and we salute his contribution to its progress by his own hard work and good citizenship; and
WHEREAS, by the example Clarence Taylor has made of his life, he makes this world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that he be appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Clarence Taylor for his unselfish, dedicated, and loving service to the members of his family and state; congratulate him on the remarkable occasion of his 70th birthday; and extend their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Clarence Taylor.
