## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution commends Scott Tomlinson, a longtime banker with Flint Community Bank, on the occasion of his retirement after more than 45 years in banking.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution passed by the Georgia House of Representatives, not a law that changes anyone's rights or obligations. It honors Scott Tomlinson, who spent over 45 years working in the banking industry, including 20 years with Flint Community Bank, as he retires.
The resolution recognizes his contributions to his community and state, praises his character, and offers him best wishes for health and happiness in retirement. It also directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for Tomlinson so he has a formal record of the honor.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends Scott Tomlinson by name for his career in banking upon his retirement.
- States praise for his 45-plus years in banking, including 20 years with Flint Community Bank.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to Tomlinson.
- Carries no legal or regulatory effect beyond the formal honor and paperwork directive.

### Who it affects

This resolution directly names and honors Scott Tomlinson. It has no effect on the public, businesses, or government agencies beyond directing House staff to prepare a ceremonial copy for him.

### Why it matters

This is a symbolic honor rather than a policy change. It does not alter any Georgia law, create funding, or impose requirements on anyone; its only real world effect is a formal, printed commendation given to Tomlinson.

### Key provisions

- The resolving clause recognizes and commends Scott Tomlinson and congratulates him on his retirement.
- A further resolution directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to Tomlinson.
