A RESOLUTION

Recognizing February 24, 2026, as Georgia Commission on Women Champions for Change Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Georgia Commission on Women was created in 1992 to advocate for the health, education, legal, and social welfare of women in the State of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Commission on Women consists of 15 commissioners appointed from across the state who represent the diverse geography and perspectives of the women of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Georgia has a wealth of citizens whose efforts and legacies greatly enrich the lives of Georgia's men, women, and children across disciplines as Champions of Change; and

WHEREAS, recognizing exemplary men and women for their contributions to our state is an honor and privilege for the Georgia Commission on Women; and

WHEREAS, on this day, the Georgia Commission on Women is proud to be recognizing Representative Lydia Glaize, Chief Jay Parrish, Dr. Delphia Young, Ela Lena, Kim Jones, and Representative Alan Powell.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize February 24, 2026, as Georgia Commission on Women Champions for Change Day in Georgia to honor Georgia leaders for their contributions to our communities in the areas of health care, education, anti-human trafficking, and leadership.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
