A RESOLUTION
Honoring the 3rd Infantry Division and Brigadier General John W. Lubas and recognizing
February 25, 2026, as Fort Stewart–Liberty County Day at the Capitol; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, the 3rd Infantry Division of the United States Army, known proudly as the
"Rock of the Marne," has served with distinction and valor since its activation in 1917,
earning a legacy of courage and sacrifice in major conflicts across the world; and
WHEREAS, the 3rd Infantry Division has played a pivotal role in the defense of freedom,
participating in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Operation Desert Storm,
Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and numerous other missions critical
to the security of the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, Fort Stewart in Liberty County, Georgia, serves as the home station of the 3rd
Infantry Division and stands as a cornerstone of national defense, readiness, and global
response capability; and
WHEREAS, Brigadier General John W. Lubas, serving with distinction as the Deputy
Commanding General of the 3rd Infantry Division, has demonstrated exceptional leadership,
commitment to mission excellence, and deep dedication to the welfare of soldiers, families,
and the community; and
WHEREAS, the soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division, alongside their families and civilian
partners, exemplify selfless service, resilience, and unity in support of the nation and the
State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, Liberty County stands as a proud military-friendly community, fostering strong
civilian-military partnerships that enhance quality of life, economic vitality, and support for
service members and their families; and
WHEREAS, Fort Stewart–Liberty County Day at the Capitol provides a meaningful
opportunity for state leaders, community stakeholders, and members of the General
Assembly to recognize the vital contributions of the 3rd Infantry Division, Brigadier General
John W. Lubas, and Deputy Commanding General of Support Kevin D. Bradley to Georgia
and the nation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body honor the 3rd Infantry Division for its historic legacy of excellence,
commend Brigadier General John W. Lubas and Deputy Commanding General of Support
Kevin D. Bradley for their distinguished leadership and service, and recognize February 25,
2026, as Fort Stewart–Liberty County Day at the Capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to
representatives of the 3rd Infantry Division, Brigadier General John W. Lubas, and Deputy
Commanding General of Support Kevin D. Bradley.
