By: Representatives Adeyina of the 110th, Beckles of the 96th, Dawson of the 65th, Ali of the
106th, Jackson of the 68th, and others
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Sherita Blair; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Sherita Blair, of St. John’s, Antigua, West Indies, is a senior finance and
operations leader with demonstrated expertise in financial strategy, organizational
governance, and institutional management; and
WHEREAS, Sherita currently serves as Business Administrator at the Perelman School of
Medicine, where she provides strategic financial leadership, operational oversight, and fiscal
accountability in support of academic and research missions; and
WHEREAS, Sherita's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience
and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state
have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS, recognized for her strength in governance and fiduciary responsibility, Sherita
serves as Treasurer of the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival Bandleaders Association and as a
Director on the Board of the Association of Alumnae of the University of Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, she is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women and
brings extensive nonprofit financial management experience through her current role as
church bookkeeper and past service as treasurer; and
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high
ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom
which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved
through overcoming the many challenges of life; and
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Sherita Blair for her efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere
best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to
Sherita Blair.
