By: Representative Ehrhart of the 36th
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing February 24, 2026, as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the more than 18,000 Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) in Georgia represent a critical and highly skilled segment of the state's health care workforce, and are vital to the medical well-being of our citizens; and
WHEREAS, APRNs, including nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists, certified nurse-midwives, and clinical nurse specialists, provide high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care across diverse practice settings; and
WHEREAS, APRNs play an indispensable role in improving access to primary care, specialty care, anesthesia services, behavioral health services, maternal health, and preventive services throughout the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the aging of the population, ongoing provider shortages, reduction of health care access in rural communities, and the increasing complexity of patient needs have le to greater reliance upon APRNs to meet health care demands; and
WHEREAS, APRNs serve in hospitals, outpatient clinics, private practices, community health centers, home health settings, long-term care facilities, and underserved rural areas, strengthening Georgia’s health care delivery system; and
WHEREAS, continued recognition and support of APRNs promotes improved health outcomes, increased access to care, and a stronger healthcare infrastructure across this state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize February 24, 2026, as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Day at the state capitol and commend the men and women of Georgia’s APRN workforce for their leadership, expertise, and dedication to advancing health care for all Georgians.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
