House Resolution 1469 By: Representatives Adeyina of the 110th, Beckles of the 96th, Dawson of the 65th, Ali of the 106th, Jackson of the 68th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Anita Chukwumfumnaya Obidi; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Anita Chukwumfumnaya Obidi, of Igbuzo (Ibusa) in Delta State, South-South Nigeria, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, dancer and model; and WHEREAS, known as Korra Obidi, she started her dance career in 2007, featuring in a song by Nigerian female rapper Sasha P.; and WHEREAS, she is the recipient of an AFRIMMA nomination for the Best Dancer in 2017, performed in the Basketball Africa League 2017/2018 season, was a contestant in the 2019 edition of the American talent show So You Think You Can Dance; and WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Anita Chukwumfumnaya Obidi extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Anita Chukwumfumnaya Obidi.
