## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally congratulates Atlanta Track Club Elite for setting a world record in the indoor men's 4x800-meter relay at the 2026 Penn Classic.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives, not a change to state law. It recognizes Atlanta Track Club Elite, a track and field team based in Georgia, for breaking the world record in the indoor men's 4x800-meter relay at the 2026 Penn Classic in Philadelphia.
The resolution describes the race leg by leg, crediting runners Clay Pender, Luke Houser, Luciano Fiore, and Sean Dolan for their individual splits and the team's combined time of 7:10.29, which beat the previous world record by 1.01 seconds. The House resolves to congratulate the team and directs the Clerk of the House to distribute copies of the resolution to the four named athletes.

### What it does

- Congratulates Atlanta Track Club Elite on the floor of the Georgia House for setting a world record in the indoor men's 4x800-meter relay.
- Recites the runners' individual leg times and the team's combined world-record time of 7:10.29 set at the 2026 Penn Classic.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute copies of the resolution to the four named runners.
- Extends the House's best wishes to the team for continued success in future competition.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names and honors four athletes, Clay Pender, Luke Houser, Luciano Fiore, and Sean Dolan, along with Atlanta Track Club Elite as an organization. It has no regulatory or funding effect on any other Georgians.

### Why it matters

This resolution carries symbolic rather than legal weight; it does not change any Georgia law, create funding, or impose requirements. Its practical effect is official recognition of a Georgia-based athletic team's achievement, memorialized in House records and distributed to the athletes.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe the team's performance at the 2026 Penn Classic, including each runner's leg and split time.
- The resolved clause has the House of Representatives congratulate Atlanta Track Club Elite and wish them continued success.
- A further resolved clause directs the Clerk of the House to distribute copies of the resolution to Clay Pender, Luke Houser, Luciano Fiore, and Sean Dolan.
