A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the City of East Point; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the City of East Point is located in Fulton County, Georgia, and operates under
a Council-Manager form of government; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council serve as the legislative body, while a City Manager
is appointed to oversee daily city operations; and
WHEREAS, East Point is divided into four wards, with each ward represented by two
council members, for a total of eight council members; and
WHEREAS, Keisha Chapman serves as the dedicated and passionate Mayor of the City of
East Point, presiding over City Council meetings and serving as the City's chief elected
official; and
WHEREAS, City Council Members include, Dr. Japera Hemming and Eric Friedly of Ward
A, Shean L. Atkins and Carrie Ziegler of Ward B, T. Starr Cummings and Tremayne
Mitchell of Ward C, and Andrea Caldwell and Dr. LaTonya Martin Rogers of Ward D; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstanding city and its exemplary
leadership be appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize the City of East Point, Georgia, and commend its Mayor
and City Council Members.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the
City of East Point.
