A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Smooth Ashlar Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star,
Prince Hall Origin, Jurisdiction of Georgia, for 80 years of exemplary service, leadership,
and charitable contributions to communities throughout the State of Georgia; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, the Smooth Ashlar Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Origin,
Jurisdiction of Georgia, was officially petitioned on October 12, 1945, and duly organized
on December 15, 1945, in Atlanta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the organization has served for 80 years as a statewide charitable and fraternal
body grounded in the principles of love, truth, and charity; and
WHEREAS, the organization is the Sister body to the Smooth Ashlar Grand Lodge of Free
and Accepted Ancient York Rite Masons, Prince Hall Origin; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of Grand Worthy Matron Sister Aimee Wallace-Hodo,
along with its elected and appointed officers, the organization continues to advance programs
including educational scholarships, food and supply drives, prison outreach efforts, breast
cancer awareness initiatives, and youth mentoring and other community-based charitable
projects across the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to honor this outstanding organization upon
such a monumental milestone in its history.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend the Smooth Ashlar Grand Chapter, Order
of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Origin, Jurisdiction of Georgia, on the occasion of its 80th
Anniversary and express sincere appreciation for its decades of service, compassion, and
leadership .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the
Smooth Ashlar Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Origin, Jurisdiction of
Georgia.
