A RESOLUTION
Congratulating and commending Sonya Martinez for receiving the 2026 Yellow Rose Nikki
T. Randall Servant Leadership Award; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the first African American
female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of
service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia
Women's Legislative Caucus; and
WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative
Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify the leadership and
inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and
WHEREAS, Sonya Martinez is the founder of Martinez Home Group, a top-performing
bilingual agent with Keller Williams, specializing in the dynamic Atlanta real estate market;
and
WHEREAS, Martinez Home Group consistently ranks in the top 20 percent of the Keller
Williams Brokerage– this year it was ranked in the top five percent; and
WHEREAS, through the brokerage, Sonya is a member of the culture committee, the equity
committee, and the productivity growth committee; and
WHEREAS, with over 15 years of experience, Sonya treats her clients like family, and is
known for her deep market knowledge, integrity, and heartfelt commitment to helping clients
achieve homeownership and build generational wealth; and
WHEREAS, a proud member of GALAREIA, Sonya is also deeply involved in philanthropy,
supporting causes like St. Jude, Force Blue, Change To Humanity, and the Children's
Restoration Network; and
WHEREAS, Sonya has established a glowing reputation of renown throughout Georgia for
her passionate philanthropy and dedicated real estate work; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body congratulate and commend Sonya Martinez for receiving the 2026
Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award and extend best wishes for her
continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Sonya
Martinez.
