House Resolution 1525
By: Representatives Williams of the 148th, O’Steen of the 169th, and Powell of the 33rd
A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life of Mr. Teddy Ray Webb and dedicating a bridge in his memory; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS, Mr. Teddy Ray Webb has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that he played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare
of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Webb was born in Hartwell, Georgia, on October 26, 1956, the beloved son
of Ira and Carol Ann Webb; and
WHEREAS, he hailed from a family who dedicated their lives to bridge construction in
Georgia and visited worksites at a young age with his grandfather, father, and uncles; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Webb began his career in bridge construction in 1974, and during his
illustrious 50 year career he traveled the state and trained numerous workers in a variety of
vocational skills related to construction; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Webb worked diligently on projects within his community, including
renovations to ball fields and concession stands for the Johnson County Recreation
Department and renovations to the press box and weight room of Johnson County High
School; and
WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he
made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable and distinguished
Georgian be recognized appropriately by dedicating a bridge in his memory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the bridge on State Route 7 over Cedar Creek in Crisp
County is dedicated as the Teddy Ray Webb Memorial Bridge.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and
directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Teddy Ray Webb Memorial
Bridge.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the
family of Mr. Teddy Ray Webb and to the Department of Transportation.
