A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Julia Wood; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Georgia House of Representatives is proud to join the Career Women's
Network in celebrating Julia Wood upon her recognition as the Career Women's Network
Woman of Achievement 2026; and
WHEREAS, Julia Wood earned a Master of Business Administration from Mercer
University in 2005 and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Georgia in
2002; and
WHEREAS, Julia Wood joined The Community Foundation of Central Georgia in 2008 and
has faithfully served our community since, advancing to the position of Senior Vice President
of Development and Donor Services, where she supports donors and professional advisors
in establishing funds that strengthen the growth and vibrancy of Macon-Bibb County and its
region; and
WHEREAS, throughout her career, Julia Wood has demonstrated a steadfast commitment
to excellence, earning certification as a 21/64 advisor for family philanthropy, obtaining the
Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation from The American College, and serving as
a member of the Central Georgia Estate Planning Council; and
WHEREAS, Julia Wood has served her community with distinction in numerous leadership
and service roles, including membership in the Rotary Club of Downtown Macon since 2005;
service as Girl Scout Troop #60043 Leader since 2013; leadership as Board Chair of the
Museum of Arts and Sciences in 2017; graduation from Leadership Macon in 2007 and
Leadership Georgia in 2020–2021; recognition as a 2011 5 Under 40 Young Leader by
Macon Magazine; and co-founding the I Love Macon campaign; and
WHEREAS, Julia Wood served as President of the Junior League of Macon, and under her
leadership, the organization received the Association of Junior Leagues International Fund
Development Award in 2013 for establishing a strong and diversified fund development
strategy—she was honored with the Angela Meadors Spirit Award in 2010 in recognition of
her attitude, willingness to serve, and exemplary dedication to the Junior League; and
WHEREAS, Julia Wood's leadership, integrity, and service have left an indelible mark on
the Macon-Bibb community and all who have had the privilege of working alongside her.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Julia Wood upon being named the Career
Women's Network Woman of Achievement 2026 and extend best wishes for continued
success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Julia
Wood.
