WHEREAS, Dr. Sylvia Williams McGee, a proud native of Macon, Georgia, is a distinguished retired educator and community engagement leader whose work has strengthened schools, families, and nonprofit partnerships across the region; and WHEREAS, Dr. McGee dedicated 35 years of service to the Bibb County School District, where she served in multiple leadership roles including School Social Worker, Director of Student Support Services, Deputy Superintendent, and Interim Superintendent, shaping student success and strengthening district administration; and WHEREAS, in recognition of her professional excellence and impact, Dr. McGee received numerous honors including Georgia School Social Worker of the Year (1998), the Robert Hatcher Leadership Award (1996), and the Outstanding Leadership Award from Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
