A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Kennedy Chapman; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Kennedy Chapman, a 2026 Showtime Pros Cotillion debutante, is the accomplished daughter of of Ms. Tondelair Chapman and Mr. Jermaine Mims; and
WHEREAS, through her participation in the 2026 Showtime Pros Cotillion debutante program, Kennedy has been supported and encouraged to grow in strength, character, confidence, and purpose; and
WHEREAS, she is a senior at Central Fine Arts and International Baccalaureate Magnet High School in Macon, Georgia, where she is a violinist in the Orchestra Magnet Program; and
WHEREAS, Kennedy is an active member of FBLA and DECA, a dedicated student-athlete in flag football and soccer, and a dual-enrollment student who has earned a Technical Certificate in Early College Essentials from Central Georgia Technical College; and
WHEREAS, she enjoys serving her community as a member of Union Baptist Church as well as at the local food bank; and
WHEREAS, each debutante completed a minimum of 10 hours of community service and maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.9; and
WHEREAS, throughout the program, the young women participated in transformative workshops and experiences designed to challenge and inspire them; and
WHEREAS, a defining moment of the season was their visit to the Georgia State Capitol, where they were recognized during the legislative session and had the opportunity to speak on issues important to them–demonstrating that their voices matter and their purpose is already in action; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstanding young woman be appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Kennedy Chapman for her unwavering commitment to service, leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Kennedy Chapman.
