House Resolution 1560
By: Representative Hong of the 103rd
A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the most
distinguished rank conferred by Scouting America; and
WHEREAS, a candidate for the most exceptional award in scouting must complete a
rigorous program of training and demonstrate her proficiency in selected scouting techniques
and the attainment of the highest ideals of scouting; and
WHEREAS, only one scout out of 97 ever reaches this lofty level of achievement, and
Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury has ably evidenced her aptitude and competency in mastering
the various special skills taught through the Scouts BSA program; and
WHEREAS, Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury is an honor student at Mill Creek High School in
Hoschton, Georgia, where she is scheduled to graduate this summer; and
WHEREAS, she is an accomplished musician who plays the violin in her school orchestra
and aspires to study biology at the University of North Georgia with the goal of becoming
a biology teacher; and
WHEREAS, Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury is among the first female Scouts within Scouting
America as well as a founding member of Troop 5508, one of the first female troops
established within the Northeast Georgia Council; and
WHEREAS, her scouting achievements include in-depth studies in first aid, health,
environmental sustainability, forestry, and mammal studies, along with numerous additional
career and recreational skill related merit badges; and
WHEREAS, an outstanding Georgian, Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury has truly exhibited a
commitment to the scouting principles of honesty and fairness and has consistently
conducted herself in a manner becoming of an Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, the perseverance and determination displayed by this exceptional young leader
has set an example for all Georgians, and great success is surely in this young woman's
future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body commend Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury for her diligence and
dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by Scouting America and congratulate her
on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to
Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury.
