House Resolution 1565
By: Representative Moore of the 91st
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Star Devyne Harris; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Star Devyne Harris, a 2026 Showtime Pros Cotillion debutante, is the
accomplished daughter of Demarco Harris and Dr. Synovia Dover-Harris; and
WHEREAS, through her participation in the 2026 Showtime Pros Cotillion debutante
program, Star has been supported and encouraged to grow in strength, character, confidence,
and purpose; and
WHEREAS, Star is a senior at Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School, where she has
maintained a strong academic record, ranking in the top 5 percent of her graduating class;
and
WHEREAS, Star also brings her talent to several clubs and organizations, including being
a varsity volleyball player and team captain, a member of the golf team, and the President
of Cristo Rey's National Honor Society Club, the vice president of marketing for DECA, and
a member of the Beta Club; and
WHEREAS, she is a member of Lovely Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves
as an active member of her community; and
WHEREAS, each debutante completed a minimum of 10 hours of community service and
maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.9; and
WHEREAS, throughout the program, the young women participated in transformative
workshops and experiences designed to challenge and inspire them; and
WHEREAS, a defining moment of the season was their visit to the Georgia State Capitol,
where they were recognized during the legislative session and had the opportunity to speak
on issues important to them–demonstrating that their voices matter and their purpose is
already in action; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstanding young woman be
appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Star Devyne Harris for her unwavering
commitment to service, leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Star
Devyne Harris.
