A RESOLUTION
Recognizing May 25, 2026, as Africa Day and commending Afrovibez for its cultural leadership; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Africa Day commemorates the 1963 founding of the Organization of African Unity, marking a historic commitment to unity, liberation, and progress among African nations; and
WHEREAS, the observance continues through the work of the African Union, promoting cooperation and development across the continent and the global diaspora; and
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia is enriched by the cultural, economic, and civic contributions of its African and Diaspora communities; and
WHEREAS, Afrovibez provides an annual platform to celebrate Africa Day, promote cultural pride, and foster unity within the State of Georgia within the diaspora.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize May 25, 2026, as Africa Day and commend Afrovibez for its leadership in advancing cultural unity and community engagement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
