House Resolution 1570

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Juliet Obi; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Juliet Obi is a seasoned entrepreneur, fashion innovator, and social leader who has dedicated her professional life to developing the next generation of leaders through education, entrepreneurship, and service; and

WHEREAS, she currently serves as the chief executive officer and founder of House of Ebony Fashion Limited, through which she has advanced women's and youth economic empowerment by providing skills training, entrepreneurship development, and financial literacy within the sustainable fashion sector; and

WHEREAS, as a committed advocate for sustainable fashion, she promotes eco-friendly practices, waste reduction, and the growth of women-led enterprises within the African fashion industry and beyond; and

WHEREAS, Juliet Obi further serves as the founder of Kidpreneur Africa, the first Kidpreneur Academy in Nigeria and Africa, established to address low levels of financial literacy among young people; and

WHEREAS, through Kidpreneur Africa's Financial, Digital Literacy and Inclusion Program, children ages 6 to 18 are equipped with financial, digital, and entrepreneurial skills aimed at breaking cycles of poverty and fostering economic growth; and

WHEREAS, these initiatives have supported more than 200,000 children across 200 schools in Nigeria as well as 20 schools in Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and Cameroon; and

WHEREAS, she has additionally expanded the impact of youth entrepreneurship across the continent and internationally as the convener of Africa's first Kidpreneur Summit and multiple Kidpreneur Conferences hosted in Nigeria, Kenya, Botswana, the United Kingdom, Maryland, and Atlanta; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable individual be appropriately honored during this special time.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Juliet Obi for her significant contributions to sustainable fashion, youth entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment as well as extend best wishes for continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Juliet Obi.
