A RESOLUTION
Congratulating and commending Judy McClendon-Redmond for receiving the 2026 Yellow
Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the first African American
female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of
service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia
Women's Legislative Caucus; and
WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative
Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify the leadership and
inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and
WHEREAS, Judy McClendon-Redmond, a resident of Douglasville, Georgia, has dedicated
her life to service, leadership, and the upliftment of others through her professional career,
community involvement, and faith-based work, consistently placing the needs of others
before herself; and
WHEREAS, a retired management employee with AT&T, Judy McClendon-Redmond
served for 29 years in the company's Corporate Finance department, during which time she
became widely known among her colleagues and clients for her constant willingness to
assist, encourage, and advocate for others; and
WHEREAS, she is the founder and a director of the Rare Pearls Leadership and Mentoring
Program Inc. and the owner of Another Creation by Lady J Event Management Group,
through which she applies her talents as an event professional, seamstress, embroiderer, and
fashion designer to mentor, empower, and develop others with excellence and care; and
WHEREAS, her service further includes teaching third and fourth grades in Douglasville,
Georgia, active leadership and membership in numerous civic, professional, and faith-based
organizations, and ongoing mentorship of youth, women, and families; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the exceptional servant leadership,
compassion, and lasting contributions of Judy McClendon-Redmond to her community, the
State of Georgia, and beyond be formally honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body congratulate and commend Judy McClendon-Redmond for
receiving the 2026 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award and extend best
wishes for her continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Judy
McClendon-Redmond.
