## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally recognizes Elise Johnson, a Dutchtown High School senior and 2026 Showtime Pros Cotillion debutante, for her academic and community achievements.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives honoring Elise Johnson, a senior at Dutchtown High School who also takes dual enrollment classes at Clayton State University. The resolution highlights her participation in the 2026 Showtime Pros Cotillion debutante program, her volunteer work at Atlanta preservation events, her job at a local restaurant, and her 3.9 GPA.
The resolution does not change any Georgia law. It simply states the House's recognition of Johnson's achievements and directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for her.

### What it does

- Formally states that the House of Representatives recognizes and commends Elise Johnson for service, leadership, academic performance, and community involvement.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to Elise Johnson.
- Creates no new law, funding, or penalty; it is a purely ceremonial honor with no regulatory effect.

### Who it affects

The resolution names Elise Johnson specifically. It has no broader effect on other Georgians, businesses, or government agencies beyond the House Clerk's administrative task of distributing a copy of the resolution.

### Why it matters

This resolution has no practical effect on Georgia law or residents generally; it is a symbolic honor. Its significance is limited to publicly recognizing one individual's personal and academic accomplishments in the official record of the General Assembly.

### Key provisions

- The resolution's whereas clauses describe Johnson's background, schooling, volunteer work, job, and participation in the debutante program.
- The resolved clause states the House's recognition and commendation of Johnson.
