## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution would name a stretch of State Route 133 in Worth County the Doug Everett Memorial Highway, honoring the late Herman Douglas Everett.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution honors Herman Douglas Everett, a Worth County native who worked as a commercial real estate appraiser, served on the Albany Planning and Zoning Commission and Albany City Commission, was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1996, and later served on the Georgia Public Service Commission for nearly two decades.
The resolution dedicates the portion of State Route 133 between State Route 112 and Bridgeboro-Anderson City Road in Worth County as the Doug Everett Memorial Highway. It directs the Georgia Department of Transportation to put up and maintain signs marking the dedication, and instructs the Clerk of the House to send copies of the resolution to Everett's family and to the Department of Transportation.

### What it does

- Dedicates the stretch of State Route 133 between State Route 112 and Bridgeboro-Anderson City Road in Worth County as the Doug Everett Memorial Highway.
- Directs the Georgia Department of Transportation to erect and maintain signs marking the highway dedication.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to send copies of the resolution to Everett's family and to the Department of Transportation.

### Who it affects

The resolution mainly affects the Georgia Department of Transportation, which must install and maintain the memorial signage, Worth County residents and drivers who use State Route 133, and the family of Herman Douglas Everett.

### Why it matters

If adopted, drivers on this section of State Route 133 in Worth County would see new signage honoring Herman Douglas Everett, and the Department of Transportation would take on the task of installing and maintaining those signs going forward.
