A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Dawn Johns; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Dawn Johns, Vice President of the Colquitt Regional Medical Center, retired on December 31, 2024, providing over 31 years of outstanding service; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Johns began her career with the Colquitt Regional Medical Center as the Director of Human Resources, where her diligent work and leadership paved the way for her advancement and promotion to senior management; and
WHEREAS, over the course of her career, Mrs. Johns held leadership responsibilities for Human Resources, Employee Health, Education and Training, Quality Improvement, Guest Relations, Environmental Services, Security, Foundation, Volunteer Auxiliary, and Marketing; and
WHEREAS, with a vision of establishing the center as the Employer of Choice in the region, Mrs. Johns executed recruitment and retention strategies that supported this vision while ensuring an engaged and competent workforce; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Johns played an integral role in developing partnerships with educational facilities and expanding services by facilitating innovative avenues for the training of future healthcare professionals; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Johns fostered an organizational culture that emphasized positivity, open communication, meaningful work, fairness, reward and recognition, and consistency while supporting and guiding both management and employees in maintaining a safe and pleasant work environment; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Johns represented Colquitt Regional by serving in leadership roles throughout the state, such as the Georgia Society for Healthcare Human Resources President, Chairman of the local board at Southern Regional Technical College, and Treasurer of the Executive Board for the Technical College System of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Johns contributed to the Colquitt Regional Medical Center receiving numerous recognitions, including Joint Commission accreditation, Leapfrog designations, Rural Hospital of the Year, the Baldrige Award, and many other accolades.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Dawn Johns for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service; congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dawn Johns.
