A RESOLUTION
Commending The Claxton Enterprise; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, The Claxton Enterprise was established in December 1912, more than two years
before the creation of Evans County, Georgia, in August 1914; and
WHEREAS, under the guiding hand of its current editor and publisher, Mickey Peace, and
with the exemplary work ethic demonstrated daily by its dedicated employees, this
outstanding newspaper has grown immensely since its founding; and
WHEREAS, The Claxton Enterprise has earned numerous honors and accolades over the last
century, including the prestigious Freedom of Information award presented by the Georgia
Press Association in 2003; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
extraordinary publication be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body commend The Claxton Enterprise for its more than 100 years of
service as well as extend best wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to The
Claxton Enterprise.
