A RESOLUTION
Recognizing September 21, 2026, as the International Day of Peace and Ms. Global Peace
Ambassador Day; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the International Day of Peace is observed annually on September 21, having
been established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981 and designated in 2001
as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace through global ceasefire and
nonviolence; and
WHEREAS, the principles of peace, reconciliation, justice, ethical governance, human
dignity, and international cooperation are foundational to stable communities and thriving
societies; and
WHEREAS, women globally have historically served and continue to serve as essential
architects of peacebuilding, humanitarian advancement, community restoration,
cross-cultural engagement, and ethical leadership; and
WHEREAS, research and international policy frameworks affirm that the meaningful
inclusion of women in leadership and diplomatic processes strengthens peace outcomes and
fosters sustainable development; and
WHEREAS, the initiative known as Ms. Global Peace Ambassador has been established as
a distinguished international leadership platform designed to recognize and activate women
committed to advancing peace diplomacy, humanitarian service, education, and global
collaboration; and
WHEREAS, the collaborating organizations associated with this initiative promote
leadership development, cross-border engagement, educational empowerment, humanitarian
advancement, and ethical governance; and
WHEREAS, the designation of Ms. Global Peace Ambassador affirms a commitment to
unity, reconciliation, justice centered leadership, nonviolence, and measurable community
transformation; and
WHEREAS, recognizing Ms. Global Peace Ambassador Day on September 21 creates a
meaningful connection between local, state, national, and international peace initiatives.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body:
(1) Recognize September 21, 2026, as International Day of Peace, in alignment with the
observance established by the United Nations;
(2) Recognize September 21, 2026, as Ms. Global Peace Ambassador Day, honoring
distinguished women leaders and global advocates who exemplify peace centered
leadership, humanitarian service, ethical governance, and international cooperation;
(3) Encourage citizens, educational institutions, faith based organizations, civic bodies,
nonprofit organizations, and business leaders to observe this day through peace forums,
youth leadership initiatives, interfaith gatherings, humanitarian outreach programs,
educational symposiums, and Peace Ambassador induction ceremonies; and
(4) Recognize individuals designated as Ms. Global Peace Ambassadors to serve as
advocates for unity, reconciliation, diplomacy, and global cooperation within their
communities and spheres of influence.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the
public and the press.
