House Resolution 1633 By: Representatives Reeves of the 99th, Tran of the 80th, Hong of the 103rd, Lim of the 98th, and Au of the 50th A RESOLUTION Commending the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, founded in 2006, the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering the Vietnamese community in the State of Georgia, particularly women and families seeking opportunity, stability, and a strong sense of belonging; and WHEREAS, the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia has played an important role in bringing together women of all ages in a spirit of solidarity, providing opportunities to exchange knowledge, strengthen community ties, and preserve Vietnamese heritage through cultural programs and annual festivals; and WHEREAS, mindful of the diverse cultural profile that defines the State of Georgia, the organization works to promote understanding, inclusion, and integration for newcomers while fostering community development through programs that encourage healthy living, cultural exchange, and civic participation; and WHEREAS, the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia is particularly dedicated to empowering women through leadership development initiatives, financial literacy workshops, and educational programs designed to support women as they balance professional responsibilities, family life, and community leadership; and WHEREAS, the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia has supported vulnerable communities through outreach assisting individuals experiencing homelessness in Gwinnett County and nearby areas, a Christmas volunteer program in Clarkston that provided gifts and essential items to refugee families and children newly arrived from the Congo in Africa, participation in an annual health fair, and fundraising efforts to support flood disaster relief in Texas, Florida, North Carolina, and Vietnam; and WHEREAS, through its dedication to service, cultural preservation, and community empowerment, the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia has greatly enriched the civic and cultural life of this state, making it abundantly fitting and proper that it be appropriately honored. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia for its outstanding service to the community and extend best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia.
