House Resolution 1648 By: Representatives Tran of the 80th, Au of the 50th, Panitch of the 51st, Olaleye of the 59th, and Clark of the 108th A RESOLUTION Commending the Vietnamese-American Community of Georgia and recognizing March 11, 2026, as Vietnamese-American Community Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Vietnamese-American Community of Georgia (VAC-GA) is a nonprofit organization committed to fostering the success of Vietnamese-Americans in Georgia by creating meaningful community relationships and retaining cultural traditions to provide a better understanding of the Vietnamese heritage; and WHEREAS, VAC-GA hosts various important traditional events each year to benefit the Vietnamese community, passes along traditions to future generations, and raises awareness of Vietnamese culture among other communities; and WHEREAS, this remarkable organization continuously provides opportunities to help members of the Vietnamese community succeed, such as the Academic Achievement Award, which encourages students to excel in both academics and social activities; and WHEREAS, VAC-GA has been dedicated to providing unparalleled service and support and has had a tremendous impact on the Vietnamese community; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this extraordinary organization be appropriately recognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Vietnamese-American Community of Georgia for its many outstanding contributions on behalf of the citizens of Georgia; recognize March 11, 2026, as Vietnamese-American Community Day at the state capitol; and extend best wishes for continued growth, development, and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Vietnamese-American Community of Georgia.
