## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution would dedicate the bridge on State Route 20 over Ty Ty Creek at the Worth-Tift county line as the Bryce Johnson Memorial Bridge, honoring the late Tifton Judicial Circuit district attorney.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution honors Bryce Alan Johnson, a Georgia lawyer and prosecutor who served as solicitor-general of Worth County and later as district attorney of the Tifton Judicial Circuit. It recounts his education and legal career, including work as an assistant district attorney, a law firm associate, and involvement in Republican Party organizations at the county and district level.
The operative part of the resolution names the bridge on State Route 20 over Ty Ty Creek at the Worth-Tift county line the Bryce Johnson Memorial Bridge. It directs the Georgia Department of Transportation to put up and maintain signs marking the dedication, and it directs the Clerk of the House to send copies of the resolution to Johnson's family and to the Department of Transportation.

### What it does

- Names the bridge on State Route 20 over Ty Ty Creek at the Worth-Tift county line the Bryce Johnson Memorial Bridge.
- Directs the Georgia Department of Transportation to erect and maintain signs marking the bridge's dedication.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to distribute copies of the resolution to Johnson's family and to the Department of Transportation.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly affects the Georgia Department of Transportation, which must post and maintain the new signage, and the family of Bryce Alan Johnson, who receive copies of the tribute. Drivers on State Route 20 at the Worth-Tift county line will see the new bridge name.

### Why it matters

The resolution creates a lasting public memorial for a local prosecutor and community figure, requiring the Department of Transportation to install signage at a specific bridge location, but it does not change any law, funding, or regulation affecting the broader public.

### Key provisions

- The resolution recites Bryce Alan Johnson's education, legal career as a prosecutor in Tift and Worth Counties, and political party involvement as background.
- The operative clause dedicates the bridge on State Route 20 over Ty Ty Creek at the Worth-Tift county line as the Bryce Johnson Memorial Bridge.
- A further clause directs the Department of Transportation to erect and maintain appropriate signs marking the dedication.
- A final clause directs the Clerk of the House to distribute copies of the resolution to Johnson's family and the Department of Transportation.
