A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III on the occasion of his 33rd pastoral anniversary; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III has demonstrated his commitment to teaching the Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III was called by the Lord 33 years ago to lead the congregation of Destiny World Church; and

WHEREAS, his vision and direction have helped Destiny World Church grow immensely in size and influence, uplifting the community like the light of Bethlehem and serving as a spiritual leader and place for fellowship; and

WHEREAS, over the past 33 years leading Destiny World Church, Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III has established numerous initiatives that have supported the growth and development of the church and surrounding community, including the Destiny Christian Academy, WTP Ministries, home ownership workshops, youth mentorship programs, and more; and

WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the sick, counseling the troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or humanitarian, Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III has shown the energy, devotion, and commitment truly reflective of divine guidance; and

WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III is a source of strength and direction for persons in all walks of life; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message of peace and love be recognized and congratulated for his innumerable good works rendered on behalf of persons in need.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III on the wonderful occasion of his 33rd pastoral anniversary and extend best wishes for many more years of successful fellowship and leadership.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III.
