House Resolution 1692
By: Representative Jones of the 60th
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Emmaline Farnsworth; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Emmaline Farnsworth has shown by the example of her accomplishments that
the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within reach of the students in this state;
and
WHEREAS, Emmaline is a resident of House District 60 and a superlative seventh grade
student at Sutton Middle School; and
WHEREAS, this gifted young scholar is bilingual in Spanish, participating in Atlanta Public
School's dual language immersion program since kindergarten; and
WHEREAS, Emmaline is a member of her school's varsity debate team, where she leads and
inspires her teammates as a captain and has been recognized with numerous speaker awards
from competitions through the Urban Debate League; and
WHEREAS, a talented softball player and pitcher, Emmaline demonstrates the focus and
time management skills required of student athletes, maintaining straight As while juggling
school work with team practices and lessons; and
WHEREAS, along with friends, Emmaline started a club in elementary school that raised
money and collected supplies for dogs and cats in need at Fulton County's Lifeline animal
shelter; and
WHEREAS, Emmaline brings great pride and honor to her family, school, classmates, and
teammates with her commitment to academics, athletic abilities, persuasive talents, and
compassion for animals; and
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this
bright and promising young citizen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Emmaline Farnsworth for her
accomplishments and extend best wishes for her continued success in her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to
Emmaline Farnsworth.
