A RESOLUTION

Honoring the lives of Howell and Jane Teasley and dedicating an intersection in their memory; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Howell and Jane Teasley have long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that they played in leadership and their deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Howell Teasley grew up in Elberton, Georgia, and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Teasley diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time, talents, and energy for 35 years to the contracts department at Lockheed Martin; and

WHEREAS, Jane Teasley grew up in Franklin, North Carolina, and dedicated her time to the field of education at schools such as Awtry Middle School in Acworth, Georgia, and Shiloh Hills Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Teasley demonstrated their deep and abiding faith as active members of Morganton Baptist Church, where they helped found Mountain Area Christian Academy; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that these remarkable and distinguished Georgians be appropriately recognized by dedicating an intersection in their memory.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL

ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the intersection of State Route 515 and the Hemptown Connector in Fannin County is dedicated as the Howell and Jane Teasley Memorial Intersection.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Howell and Jane Teasley Memorial Intersection.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Howell and Jane Teasley and to the Department of Transportation.
