House Resolution 1727 By: Representative Stinson of the 150th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Dr. Darlene Williams-Roberts; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Dr. Darlene Williams-Roberts has long stood as a beacon of excellence in the fields of fitness advocacy, entrepreneurship, and civic leadership, and she has made a lasting impact on her community through her visionary service and dedication; and WHEREAS, following the passing of her beloved husband, who was deeply passionate about cultivating Muscadines, Dr. Williams-Roberts honored his legacy by establishing and growing Roberts Vineyard, which now stands as the only USDA GAP-certified vineyard in Georgia under Black female ownership; and WHEREAS, Roberts Vineyard also includes a licensed winery where Dr. Williams-Roberts blends, bottles, and sells her own wines, hosting exclusive tastings and setting a benchmark for excellence in sustainable viticulture and agribusiness; and WHEREAS, Dr. Williams-Roberts further serves as Vice Chair of the Economic Development Board of Crawford County and is an active member of the Crawford County Chamber Board, where she plays an essential role in fostering economic growth and supporting local business initiatives; and WHEREAS, her advocacy for women in agriculture is additionally reflected by her involvement with the Women AG Leadership Foundation Inc., where she continues to empower future generations of female agricultural leaders; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable individual be appropriately honored during this special time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Darlene Williams-Roberts for her many outstanding achievements and contributions on behalf of her fellow citizens as well as extend best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr. Darlene Williams-Roberts.
