House Resolution 1743 By: Representatives Clark of the 108th, Beckles of the 96th, Okoye of the 102nd, McClain of the 109th, Carter of the 93rd, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Gwinnett County Public Schools; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Gwinnett County Public Schools, the largest school district in the State of Georgia, serves nearly 180,000 students and is guided by a vision to become a system of world-class schools wherein each and every student acquires the academic knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in college, careers, and life; and WHEREAS, Gwinnett County Public Schools remains steadfast in its commitment to pursuing excellence in academic knowledge, skills, and behavior for every student while ensuring that students remain at the center of every decision made in support of teaching and learning; and WHEREAS, the students, educators, staff, families, and community partners of Gwinnett County Public Schools represent one of the most diverse and dynamic school communities in this state and exemplify the strength, resilience, and promise of public education; and WHEREAS, the district continues to advance rigorous and relevant learning opportunities through academics, career and technical education, fine arts, athletics, and specialized support services designed to prepare students for success in a rapidly evolving global society; and WHEREAS, the continued success of Gwinnett County Public Schools reflects a shared commitment among educators, families, community partners, and public leaders to foster safe, supportive, and engaging learning environments that expand opportunity and empower every student to reach his or her full potential; and WHEREAS, Gwinnett County Public Schools Capitol Day at the Georgia State Capitol provides an important opportunity for students, educators, board members, and community stakeholders to engage with members of the Georgia General Assembly, celebrate the accomplishments of the district, and highlight the critical role of public education in strengthening communities across this state; and WHEREAS, this event underscores the importance of civic engagement and encourages students to see themselves as future leaders who will contribute to the continued growth, prosperity, and success of the State of Georgia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Gwinnett County Public Schools on the occasion of Gwinnett County Public Schools Capitol Day, held on March 25, 2026, and extend sincere appreciation to the students, educators, staff, families, and community partners who represent the district with distinction. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
