House Resolution 1770 By: Representatives Bonner of the 73rd, Jones of the 47th, Taylor of the 173rd, Mathiak of the 82nd, and Dempsey of the 13th A RESOLUTION Commending and congratulating Aniston Jones; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Aniston Jones has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the most distinguished rank conferred by Scouting America; and WHEREAS, a candidate for the most exceptional award in scouting must complete a rigorous program of training and demonstrate her proficiency in selected scouting techniques and the attainment of the highest ideals of scouting; and WHEREAS, only one scout out of 97 ever reaches this lofty level of achievement, and Aniston Jones has ably evidenced her aptitude and competency in mastering the various special skills taught through the Scouts BSA program; and WHEREAS, this hard-working young woman has demonstrated great leadership skills and initiative and has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of honesty and fairness during her years with the Scouts BSA program; and WHEREAS, a member of Troop 219, Aniston Jones led an Eagle project to beautify the courtyard of Peachtree City Elementary, providing students with a vibrant, welcoming space to learn, grow, and connect with nature; and WHEREAS, the perseverance and determination displayed by this exceptional young leader set an example for all Georgians, and great success is surely in this young woman's future. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Aniston Jones for her diligence and dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by Scouting America and congratulate her on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Aniston Jones.
