A RESOLUTION

Commending Southern Crescent Technical College for its contributions to workforce development, student success, and technical education; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Southern Crescent Technical College provides high-quality technical education and workforce training that supports economic growth and career development across the State of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, the college serves more than 14,000 students annually across multiple campuses, offering associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates in high-demand fields such as healthcare, advanced manufacturing, information technology, logistics, business, and public safety; and

WHEREAS, Southern Crescent Technical College plays a vital role in preparing Georgia's workforce by partnering with local employers, industries, and community leaders to ensure students gain practical skills that meet the needs of today's economy; and

WHEREAS, the institution is led by President Dr. Irvin T. Clark III, whose leadership has strengthened workforce development initiatives and expanded educational opportunities throughout the South Atlanta region; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Clark has been recognized as one of Georgia Trend's 500 Most Influential Leaders in Georgia for 2025 and has received the Excellence in Education and Workforce Development Award for his leadership and contributions to advancing education and economic development in Georgia; and

WHEREAS, students of Southern Crescent Technical College have demonstrated outstanding achievement through programs such as the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) and competitions such as SkillsUSA, where students have earned state and national recognition for excellence in technical and career skills; and

WHEREAS, these accomplishments reflect the dedication of the college's faculty, staff, and students to academic excellence, leadership, and service to their communities.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Southern Crescent Technical College for its significant contributions to education, workforce development, and student achievement and extend best wishes for continued success in the years ahead.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Southern Crescent Technical College.
