By: Representatives Momtahan of the 17th, Kelley of the 16th, Gullett of the 19th, Smith of the
18th, New of the 40th, and others
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Micah Gravley on his outstanding public service; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS, Micah Gravley has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the
vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare
of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, in November 2012, Micah Gravley was elected to the Georgia General
Assembly as the Representative of House District 67, where he served the citizens of
Paulding and Douglas counties with diligence and care until 2022; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure in the House of Representatives, he held numerous leadership
positions, including Deputy Whip, Vice Chairman of the House Majority Caucus, Secretary
of the Non-Civil Judiciary Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Code Revision Committee;
and
WHEREAS, he has earned many accolades and honors in recognition of his exemplary
legislative and public service, including the Legislator of the Year award and multiple
Legislative Champion awards from statewide and national organizations; and
WHEREAS, beyond his service in the Georgia General Assembly, he is a graduate of the
Hiram Police Dept Citizen's Police Academy and a consistent advocate for public safety
personnel; and
WHEREAS, Micah Gravley currently serves as a member of the Paulding Wellstar Hospital
Regional Health Board, maintaining active involvement in civic leadership and community
service; and
WHEREAS, his significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and
diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have
earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Micah Gravley for his efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated public service to the citizens of Paulding and Douglas counties and
the State of Georgia as well as extend best wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to
Micah Gravley.
