A RESOLUTION

Commending Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Jonah Slade; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Jonah Slade is an exceptional young leader, scholar, aviator, and innovator who represents Morrow High School, Clayton County, and the State of Georgia with distinction, discipline, and excellence; and

WHEREAS, Jonah has been educated within Clayton County Public Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, demonstrating consistent academic achievement, perseverance, and a commitment to personal growth; and

WHEREAS, as a Class of 2026 senior and aviator at Morrow High School, he serves as the Commander of Cadet Operations in the distinguished GA-791 Corps of Cadets, where he leads with integrity, sets the standard for excellence, and mentors fellow cadets in responsibility, teamwork, and service; and

WHEREAS, under his leadership, the Corps of Cadets continues to exemplify discipline, unity, and dedication to the highest standards of the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program; and

WHEREAS, before rising to command within JROTC, Jonah demonstrated early entrepreneurial vision as Founder and CEO of Jonah and the Blockheads, a youth-centered initiative dedicated to strengthening motor skills, reading comprehension, and the ability of elementary school students to follow directions—thereby shaping the next generation through innovation, compassion, and creativity; and

WHEREAS, further exemplifying his drive and ambition, Jonah is a dual-enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University, where he is pursuing aviation studies and has logged 22 flight hours toward earning his private pilot's license, demonstrating his determination to "Aim High" and achieve excellence beyond the classroom; and

WHEREAS, Jonah Slade stands as a powerful example of leadership, character, and resilience, challenging stereotypes and redefining narratives about urban youth by proving that vision, discipline, and opportunity produce excellence; and

WHEREAS, he is recognized by his peers as a team player, mentor, and role model who leads classmates in doing the right thing and inspires others to pursue their dreams without hesitation; and

WHEREAS, his accomplishments reflect not only personal success but a deep commitment to uplifting others and serving his community with honor and purpose.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Jonah Slade for his outstanding leadership, academic excellence, entrepreneurial innovation, and aviation achievements as well as recognize him as a true Rising Star in Clayton County and the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Jonah Slade.
