A RESOLUTION
Honoring Dar-E-Abbas Islamic Center; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Dar-e 'Abbas (AS) is an Islamic Shia Center (Imambargah) located on Lawrenceville Highway in Southern Gwinnett County of Metro Atlanta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the name Dar-e 'Abbas means "the Door of Abbas (as)" in the Persian language, a reference to the Valiant Muslim Hero Abbas Bin Ali Bin Abu Talib A.S.; and
WHEREAS, Dar-E-Abbas has long demonstrated its commitment to community service though charitable outreach, supporting initiatives dedicated to the welfare and enrichment of the broader community; and
WHEREAS, Dar-E-Abbas has had the honor of welcoming and hosting numerous world- renowned poets and distinguished public figures; and
WHEREAS, among its dedicated trustees is Saheb-e-Biyaz of Anjuman Ghamkhwaran-e-Abbas, Ali Zia Rizvi who has provided exemplary leadership and tireless dedication to Dar-E-Abbas; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize the remarkable contributions of this extraordinary institution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body honor Dar-E-Abbas Islamic Center for its many contributions to the State of Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dar-E-Abbas Islamic Center.
