House Resolution 1840

A RESOLUTION
Congratulating Gene and Dovie Brinson upon their 81st wedding anniversary; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Gene and Dovie Brinson entered into holy matrimony on February 14, 1945,
in Parker, Indiana, and this year they celebrate the exceptional achievement of their 81st
wedding anniversary; and
WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding they have demonstrated have
provided the foundation of success from which their family members have developed and
flourished, as evidenced by their six wonderful children, 15 magnificent grandchildren, more
than 20 remarkable great-grandchildren, seven outstanding great-great-grandchildren, and
three exemplary great-great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Gene and Dovie Brinson possess the vast wisdom which only comes through
experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many
challenges of life; and
WHEREAS, they have remained deeply committed to serving God, loving one another, and
faithfully investing in their family and community; and
WHEREAS, kind and generous people, Gene and Dovie Brinson bring joy and happiness to
their family and to the many friends and neighbors who have the great pleasure of knowing
them; and
WHEREAS, they have witnessed a dramatic change in the world over the course of their
lifetimes, and we salute their contributions to its progress through their tireless efforts on
behalf of their community and extended family; and
WHEREAS, by the example Gene and Dovie Brinson have made of their lives, they make
this world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that they be
appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body congratulate Gene and Dovie Brinson upon the grand occasion of
their 81st wedding anniversary and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health
and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Gene
and Dovie Brinson.
