House Resolution 1848

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Marc David Dunston; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Marc David Dunston, known professionally as Magic Marc, is a talented
entertainer and educator who has performed for celebrities such as Denzel Washington,
Spike Lee, Adam Sandler, and Oprah Winfrey; and
WHEREAS, through hosting The Magic Marc Show and the Magication program, Marc
David Dunston has produced countless hours of family-oriented content that features
interactive magic demonstrations, animals, and important lessons about literacy, kindness,
and more; and
WHEREAS, he has further dedicated much of his time and energy toward his community,
serving as a past or current board member of Greenbriar Home, Safe Shelter, and the Frank
Callen Boys and Girls Clubs as well as president of Unity Church; and
WHEREAS, he additionally serves as the first Black president in the 100-year history of the
Exchange Club of Savannah, board member of the Old Savannah City Mission, and president
of Just Social Solutions; and
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high
ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom
which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved
through overcoming the many challenges of life; and
WHEREAS, Marc David Dunston is a person of magnanimous strengths with an
unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Marc David Dunston for his many
exceptional contributions and career accomplishments as well as extend the most sincere best
wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Marc
David Dunston.
