By: Representatives Santos of the 117th, Holly of the 116th, Flournoy of the 74th, and Douglas
of the 78th
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Hands of Hope Clinic; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Hands of Hope Clinic, located in Stockbridge, is the only charitable medical,
dental, and mental health clinic in Henry County, providing comprehensive care to uninsured
and underserved residents; and
WHEREAS, founded in 2004 by Janet Turner, Hands of Hope Clinic was established
through a vision of compassion and community service and has grown into a vital healthcare
resource for individuals and families in need; and
WHEREAS, approximately 10 percent of residents in Henry County lack health insurance,
representing tens of thousands of individuals who face barriers to accessing essential
healthcare services; and
WHEREAS, Hands of Hope Clinic proudly serves residents across all municipalities within
Henry County, including McDonough, Stockbridge, Locust Grove, and Hampton, ensuring
access to quality healthcare throughout the county; and
WHEREAS, the clinic provides a wide range of services, including primary medical care,
dental services, mental health counseling, specialty care, and prescription assistance,
improving health outcomes and reducing strain on emergency healthcare systems; and
WHEREAS, the clinic operates through the dedication of volunteer physicians, dentists,
nurses, and community partners who work tirelessly to ensure that all residents receive
quality care regardless of their ability to pay; and
WHEREAS, for more than two decades, Hands of Hope Clinic has served as a critical safety
net provider, strengthening the health and well-being of residents across Henry County and
the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstanding organization be
recognized for its invaluable contributions to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Hands of Hope Clinic for its more than
two decades of dedicated service to the citizens of Henry County as well as extend best
wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to
Hands of Hope Clinic.
