House Resolution 1905 By: Representatives Neal of the 79th, Burnough of the 77th, Scott of the 76th, Bell of the 75th, and Flournoy of the 74th A RESOLUTION Recognizing March 31, 2026, as Morrow Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, located in Clayton County, Georgia, the City of Morrow is best known for its retail centers, educational institutions, and importance as part of the Atlanta metropolitan area; and WHEREAS, the city was formally incorporated in 1943, and it has since grown to cover an area of between three and four square miles as well as a population of nearly 8,000 residents; and WHEREAS, the city is home to Clayton State University, a major public school known for its exceptional business, nursing, and aviation programs as well as Spivey Hall, a cherished concert venue; and WHEREAS, the Southlake Mall is one of the largest shopping centers on Atlanta's south side, and retail along Mount Zion Road and Jonesboro Road constitutes the majority of the city's commercial activity; and WHEREAS, the city further serves as host to numerous local events and civic activities throughout the year, including community festivals, business ribbon cuttings, cultural celebrations, and recognition ceremonies; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable city be appropriately honored during this special time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize March 31, 2026, as Morrow Day at the state capitol and extend best wishes for future health, happiness, and success to the citizens of the City of Morrow. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
