House Resolution 1926 By: Representative Smith of the 18th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Anna Lane Coy; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Anna Lane Coy, a Haralson County Highschool senior, has surpassed 1,000 career points; and WHEREAS, as a fitting end to an exceptional high school basketball career, Anna surpassed 1,000 career points in the second round of the 50th annual Hilburn-Patterson tournament; and WHEREAS, this stellar young woman epitomizes the courage, determination, leadership, and character necessary to attain excellence in athletic prowess and performance; and WHEREAS, her months of training and competition have been rewarded with this impressive accomplishment; and WHEREAS, Anna's career record was the culmination of a lifetime of hard work, dedication, and excellent sportsmanship; and WHEREAS, her superior skill, strategy, stamina, and control have earned her the respect and admiration of her teammates and challengers; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the superlative abilities of this accomplished and gifted student-athlete, as well as the pride, honor, and respect she has brought to herself, her school, and her community, be appropriately recognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Anna Lane Coy and extend best wishes for success in the future. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Anna Lane Coy.
