A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Dr. Stephanie Dean Kerce and the Georgia General Assembly Special Event Interns from Georgia State University; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Dr. Stephanie Dean Kerce has exemplified distinguished leadership and unwavering dedication to higher education during her tenure serving as the Georgia State University Faculty Director for the Georgia Legislative Internship Program (GLIP), overseeing collaboration with colleges and universities across Georgia to recruit and prepare student interns for service at the state capitol; and
WHEREAS, in this capacity, Dr. Kerce and the Office of General Counsel for the Georgia General Assembly collaborated to create a Georgia General Assembly Special Event Internship Program that provides the opportunity for students to volunteer and support the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Seminars presented by the Office of General Counsel on behalf of the Georgia General Assembly; and
WHEREAS, the Special Event Interns actively participated in event logistics, setup, and coordination of the CLE events, which are regularly attended by more than one hundred attorneys from the legislative, judicial, and executive branches of state government and from the federal and local government; and
WHEREAS, the Special Event Interns consistently demonstrate exceptional work ethic, creativity, and teamwork throughout every event, and their enthusiasm and dedication are evident in their willingness to take initiative and adapt to new challenges; and
WHEREAS, attendees and staff have commended the interns for their professionalism, positive attitude, and attention to detail, all of which contribute to the overall success of the events; and
WHEREAS, participation in the Special Event Internship Program provides students with invaluable opportunities, including a certificate of service, the ability to expand their networks, instruction from notable speakers, and a firsthand look into the legislature, enhancing their prospects for professional success; and
WHEREAS, these valuable experiences not only enrich the interns' academic journey but also provides them with the opportunity to develop critical skills for their future careers; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that these exemplary individuals, whose leadership, dedication, and service exemplify the highest standards, be appropriately honored during this special time: Dr. Stephanie Dean Kerce, Ben Bradley, KC Burney, Victoria Cook, Karissa Cox, Tylah Dennis, Alexia Dunnon, Isabel Fraire, Melissa Vazquez-Guzman, Zandria Hampton, Elisa Heinzelmann, Maise Khreim, Caleb Johnson, Reaghan Malone, Jazmin Mejia, Christiana Mvovi, Pia Saraswat, Kira Slevin, Brenda Washington, Mary Wedey, Alexis Weeks, and Angie Zapata.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Stephanie Dean Kerce and the Georgia General Assembly Special Event Interns for their outstanding leadership, ongoing service, and zeal to be of assistance to the Office of General Counsel and the Georgia General Assembly, and extend sincere best wishes for their continued success and future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Dr. Stephanie Dean Kerce and each of the Georgia General Assembly Special Event Interns named herein.
