A RESOLUTION
Commending Dr. Delvecchio S. Finley; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Dr. Delvecchio S. Finley is an accomplished healthcare executive whose
leadership and service have strengthened major health systems and advanced patient-centered
care across the United States; and
WHEREAS, his exemplary career includes previous service as chief executive officer of
Alameda Health System, chief executive officer of LA County/Harbor-UCLA Medical
Center, and interim chief operating officer for Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation
Center; and
WHEREAS, in 2021, he returned to Georgia to join Atrium Health Navicent following its
strategic combination with Atrium Health, bringing extensive expertise to support
systemwide integration, operational alignment, and long-term growth; and
WHEREAS, as president of Atrium Health Navicent, he now leads one of the largest
nonprofit and leading academic health systems in the United States, providing organizational
direction, advancing strategic initiatives, and overseeing the adoption of new technologies
that position the institution to meet evolving healthcare needs; and
WHEREAS, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, he currently serves
as chairman-elect of the organization and has previously served as a board member of the
American Hospital Association as well as chair of the America's Essential Hospitals Institute;
and
WHEREAS, Dr. Delvecchio S. Finley contributes substantially to statewide leadership in
Georgia as a board member of the Georgia Hospital Association, the Georgia Chamber of
Commerce, the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals, Central Georgia Health Network,
Secure Health, Vizient Southern States, and the Georgia Research Alliance; and
WHEREAS, he has earned national recognition for his accomplishments, including
placement on Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Minorities in Healthcare Watch List as well as
Modern Healthcare's Up and Comers Award and the American College of Healthcare
Executives' Robert S. Hudgens Young Healthcare Executive of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exceptional individual be
appropriately honored during this special time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body commend Dr. Delvecchio S. Finley for his exceptional leadership
and transformative contributions to healthcare as well as extended best wishes for continued
success
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr.
Delvecchio S. Finley.
